This approach promotes imaginative play as children use these natural features to create their own experiences.
Our nature play areas are meticulously designed with a commitment to environmental sustainability and conservation. By incorporating natural elements such as suspension bridges, rocks, logs, and native plants, we create engaging outdoor environments that celebrate the beauty of nature and encourage a deeper environmental appreciation.
A distinctive feature of our nature playscapes is the use of recycled and repurposed timber sourced from our other projects. Each project is unique, reflecting our dedication to both sustainability and originality.
Habitat Gardens
Would you like to wake up to the sound of birds or enjoy the chorus of frogs at dusk or during the rain? We can turn your vision into reality by designing a garden that attracts and supports native wildlife. By incorporating a mix of fruiting and flowering shrubs, vines, and trees, our habitat gardens draw a variety of native birds, mammals, reptiles, and frogs. These gardens create essential wildlife corridors and refuges, providing food and shelter, especially in densely developed urban areas. We can tailor these gardens to attract specific fauna you wish to see and install habitat features such as carved log hollows, nest boxes, native beehives, habitat tripods, and water features. Our habitat elements are both functional and serve as artistic enhancements to your landscape.
Hydromulching
Hydromulching is a technique that involves applying a slurry of water, seeds, fertiliser, cellulosic mulch, tracking dye, and a binder/tackifier to damaged or degraded soils. This method offers a rapid, economical, and efficient way to achieve revegetation.
The slurry is sprayed using a specialised hydroseeding truck that maintains the mixture’s agitation to ensure uniform coverage. The hydroseeder’s cannon, can project the mixture over distances of up to 100 meters, enabling effective application even in hard-to-reach or challenging areas.
Additionally, our hydromulching process conforms to MRTS specifications, ensuring it meets industry standards for performance and quality.

Bushcare
Landmark Environmental collaborates with landowners and government agencies to manage and restore disturbed or modified bushland areas. Our natural area restoration teams are highly qualified to assess a site’s resilience and employ a holistic, cost-effective approach to bushland restoration.
We design and execute comprehensive bush regeneration projects, whether for small roadside plantings or large-scale restorations. Our focus is on selecting native plants that are well-suited to the specific environment. We also offer guidance on follow-up care to ensure successful plant establishment and provide ongoing maintenance, including watering services.
Our natural area restoration programs are designed to meet the criteria set by environmental regulators, streamlining the asset handover process. Site maintenance includes managing regeneration opportunities, ensuring plant health, enhancing visual amenity, and conducting tasks such as weed control, rubbish removal, and pruning.
Revegetation
At Landmark Environmental, our revegetation programs are designed to restore degraded landscapes such as paddocks, mining sites, and creek banks, or to expand tree coverage for conservation purposes. We aim to recreate a composition similar to the original Regional Ecosystem whenever feasible.
Revegetation is essential for revitalising land by enhancing species diversity, stabilising erosion, providing wildlife habitat, and improving water quality. It also plays a crucial role in creating fauna habitats and establishing wildlife corridors, offering a faster and more controlled means of site rehabilitation compared to natural processes.
In addition to our revegetation efforts, we specialise in designing and implementing offset projects. These projects help mitigate the environmental impacts of development activities by enhancing or restoring ecological values, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting sustainable land use practices.
For bespoke revegetation strategies that address specific engineering needs, consult with our Ecological Solutions team. We can develop site-specific plans using a targeted selection of native plants to achieve objectives such as rapid bank stabilisation, constructing retention basins, reducing flood impacts, and enhancing bushfire management, as well as fostering wildlife corridors and improving fauna habitats.
Waterways and Riparian Corridor Management
Waterways are inherently dynamic systems, constantly influenced by changes such as flooding events. The protection and correct management of natural riparian corridors are crucial for flood mitigation, land-based contaminant filtration, water quality improvement, and providing essential habitat for both terrestrial and aquatic vertebrates.
Low-lying areas frequently facilitate catchment flows and intersect with regions managed for nature conservation, while slopes, batters, and civil worksites add additional complexity. Projects in these sensitive zones require meticulous care, detailed logistics planning, and adherence to environmental permits to ensure minimal impact and effective management.
Fauna Management, Surveying & Monitoring
Landmark’s experienced team is equipped to conduct comprehensive fauna surveys and monitoring across a range of scenarios, including:
- Pre-Vegetation Clearing: Assessing fauna populations before land clearing activities commence.
- Post-Vegetation Clearing: Evaluating the impact on and recovery of fauna following vegetation removal.

Vegetation Management
Weed Control
Our Vegetation Management team has extensive experience in managing invasive species, including controlling their encroachment into native plant communities by various environmental and listed weed species. We address a range of invasive plants, from trees, shrubs, and vines to perennial grasses, annuals, and succulents/cacti.
We specialise in implementing effective measures to prevent and minimise environmental erosion through strategic vegetation management. By introducing carefully selected plant species and applying various physical controls, we can significantly reduce wind and water erosion while promoting habitat conservation.
Our weed management approach is environmentally sensitive, utilising Integrated Weed Management (IWM) techniques. We tailor our weed control strategies to meet specific project needs, whether adhering to regulatory requirements, enhancing community park aesthetics, or improving accessibility.
Our methodical weed control process ensures that invasive species are replaced with native plants rather than other weeds, fostering the germination and growth of native species (from the existing seedbank) crucial for restoration success. We balance primary, secondary (follow-up), and maintenance weed control using a range of best practices. Our on-ground team ensures timely and accurate follow-up and maintenance, maximising resource efficiency and effectiveness.
In addition, we incorporate habitat conservation and bushfire fuel management into our strategies. Our efforts include managing vegetation to conserve and enhance wildlife habitats while also reducing bushfire risks through effective fuel management practices. This holistic approach supports ecological balance and resilience in the face of environmental challenges.
Forestry Mulcher
Our 5T excavator, equipped with a forestry mulcher attachment, is highly effective in handling woody weeds and invasive trees with ease. This powerful combination excels at clearing dense vegetation, making it ideal for a variety of land management tasks. Beyond its capabilities in weed and tree removal, the excavator and mulcher are also invaluable tools for opening and maintaining fire trails, which is crucial for bushfire mitigation and fuel suppression.
Additionally, the machinery is well-suited for constructing and maintaining tracks and trails, ensuring they remain accessible and functional. Whether you’re looking to manage vegetation in preparation for bushfire season or enhance the usability of your land, our 5T excavator and forestry mulcher provide a robust solution for efficient and effective land management.
Aerial Mapping and Monitoring
Our drones provide state-of-the-art aerial environmental mapping and survey services. We collaborate closely with our clients to ensure our mapping solutions are tailored to your project’s specific requirements.
UAVs (drones) offer a safer, quicker, and more cost-effective approach to mapping and monitoring large areas. They are particularly effective for environmental protection, management, and investigation in challenging, hazardous, or otherwise inaccessible locations where traditional vehicles and personnel may struggle.
Our drones have been instrumental in identifying clusters of the endangered Westringia gradifolia and significant invasive weed populations on steep escarpments. After collecting data and mapping the area, we successfully planned and implemented a weed control program using rope access techniques.
Additionally, our drones are regularly employed in tree condition assessments and management processes. They enable us to detect structural anomalies, defects, fauna activity, and pest or disease issues in tree areas that are otherwise difficult to reach with ropes or elevated work platforms.
